The Second International Russian Theatre Festival will be held at the Theatre Atalante, in the Montmartre region of Paris. It is the joint creation of two theatres--one in Paris, one in St. Petersburg--who share a common faith in the transformative and uniting power of theatre to celebrate, challenge, and stimulate its practitioners and its audiences, especially those artists and auditors who may join across national and cultural boundaries to know one another and work together. The International Classic Center of St. Petersburg (Evgeny Lukoshkov, President) reaches around the world to present, collaborate, and inspire other theatres and artists through its own performances, joint projects, and production opportunities for its foreign counterparts. In cooperation with the Paris-based Compagnie des Matinaux (Alian Barsacq, President), the International Classic Center will oversee the Festival at the Matinaux home theatre. |
